Roman De Angelis, Ian James, and Gray Newell were back together in the Heart of Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 car for another stop on the 24H Series calendar in Belgium this past weekend. The 12 Hour endurance race was held at the historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and was the third stop on the 24H Series tour.De Angelis and the team have had strong results at each race this year in their new Mercedes-AMG GT3 by SPS Automotive Performance, which didn’t change this weekend. Six hours into the race, the trio was in the lead and over seven seconds ahead of second place. By the end of the twelve hours of racing, the #27 car had finished third overall and first in class by five laps. It was another excellent weekend for De Angelis, James, and Newell, who have shown they can compete for class victories and overall wins.It will be a quick turnaround for De Angelis, who will be back in action this weekend in California for the IMSA 2023 MOTUL Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai N at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca.
