At the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season opener in Qatar, The Heart of Racing boldly entered the Hypercar class with two Aston Martin Valkyrie race cars under the Aston Martin THOR Team banner. Roman De Angelis shared driving duties in the No. 009 car alongside Alex Riberas and Marco Sørensen.
The race presented several challenges for the team. The No. 009 Valkyrie managed to complete the event, finishing 17th overall, while the No. 007 encountered issues that forced its retirement after 181 laps.
This marked an important milestone for The Heart of Racing, as it was the competitive debut of the Aston Martin Valkyrie in the Hypercar class.
Although the team faced difficulties, they gained valuable experience and data, which will be crucial in improving their performance for future rounds of the championship.
THOR and the Aston Martin Valkyrie piloted by Roman De Angelis and company are set to build on experience from Qatar at the IMSA 12HRS of Sebring March 12th.
