Making both Aston Martin’s Hypercar debut and Roman De Angelis’ first appearance in the top class at the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans, The Heart of Racing’s No. 009 Valkyrie charged to a strong 12th-place finish. The historic event marked a major milestone for Aston Martin and a significant career highlight for De Angelis as they tackled Le Mans’ most competitive category for the very first time.
After qualifying 15th, De Angelis and teammates Marco Sørensen and Alex Riberas benefited from a Porsche disqualification to reach the Hyperpole for the first time in Aston Martin THOR Team Valkyrie history. Throughout the race, they delivered a flawless performance, with De Angelis praising the effort as “not a single mistake made and a big step forward.”
Next up, Roman and The Heart of Racing’s Aston Martin Valkyrie return stateside for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on June 22.
