Roman De Angelis and The Heart of Racing team were back in action this weekend in California for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Teammate Marco Sorenson joined De Angelis for the 100-minute shootout on the oldest street track in the United States. The pair got off to a great start in qualifying and finished first out of the GTD and GTD Pro classes by putting in a 01:17.811 fastest lap.De Angelis and Sorenson continued their qualifying success into the first sprint race on the IMSA calendar with a second-place finish. The podium finish puts the duo in second place in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship GTD standings, just nine points behind the current leaders.The duo will be back in California in May for the 2023 MOTUL Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai at WeaterTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where they will look to reclaim their championship lead.
