October 13, 2020 – Charlotte, NC
Roman celebrated the Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend at a tricky Charlotte Motor Speedway race. Back with his Heart of Racing team in the Aston Martin, he was ready for the team to continue their streak of best season finishes. The weather was going to make that a challenge for the team, so after some smart decisions in practice and qualifying De Angelis and his driving partner, Ian James were ready. They had qualified in 9th position, and by the time James finished his stint and handed off to De Angelis, they were up to 6th. The rain and night race made the race even more challenging, but De Angelis was able to use his years of experience to drive his best stint in the Heart of Racing car this year. He made an incredible pass which in the end led the team to a 3rd place finish and their first podium of the season. De Angelis and James, along with their team, are looking forward to taking this fantastic finish and their adverse track experience into their next race next weekend.
