IMSA Season Finale at Petit Le Mans

October 14, 2024

Braselton, GA

Roman De Angelis joined Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas for the Motul Petit Le Mans, the final race on the IMSA calendar. De Angelis joined the #23 car for the second race weekend in a row, trying to help the #23 GTD Pro car capture a championship.

Gunn took on qualifying duties for the weekend, and he put together a good lap that had the team starting in third place. Throughout the majority of the race, the trio was able to maintain their third-place position. De Angelis passed the car over to Riberas for the final stint on lap 277, sitting in second. Riberas then drove the car to a third-place podium finish and just narrowly missed out on claiming the GTD PRO title.

It was a great final race of the IMSA year for De Angelis and The Heart of Racing Team. Be sure to check back here and follow Roman on social media to be the first to hear about his plans for the 2025 racing season.

“I think the race went really well. Honestly, we did  everything that we could have as a team and as a group of drivers to try to win the championship. Unfortunately, we fell short by one position. I’m really, really proud of everyone at the Heart of Racing, and  honestly, really proud of Ross as well. The last stint he did was super  impressive. Obviously, we know how great he is, but that was just  awesome to see. We can all go home proud, thinking we basically did  everything we could. I’m super fortunate to be given the chance to drive the No. 23 this weekend.”
