Roman De Angelis and The Heart of Racing team continue their string of solid results as they claimed their second victory of the IMSA Weathertech GTD season this past weekend at the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. The weekend got off to an excellent start for the team, with Roman capturing his and the team's first pole position on Friday with a lap time of 00:51.729 around the 1.47-mile circuit.Roman started Saturday's scheduled two-hour and forty-minute race on pole and led for his entire 47-minute stint before Gunn stepped in. The race was then, unfortunately, red-flagged after 90 minutes because of lightning and was not able to be restarted. This resulted in the #23 car being awarded their second victory of the season as they were over 2 seconds in the lead at the time. Roman and Ross now sit atop the IMSA Weathertech GTD standings and extend their lead in the IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup.Roman dedicated the win and pole position to his grandfather, Frank De Angelis, who had sadly passed just before the weekend. The Heart of Racing team will look to continue their streak of strong results when they get back into action August 5-8 at Road America for the 2021 IMSA Sportscar Weekend.Keep up with all the action and news with Roman and The Heart of Racing's #23 car by following Roman on social media.
