On August 22 Roman and his teammate, Ian James got behind the wheel in their Racing for Children's Aston Martin at VIRginia International Raceway for their third race of the season. After a difficult weekend earlier this month where they were unable to race, they were excited to get back to the track and show a strong finish. After qualifying in tenth and making minor changes for the race, they were feeling ready to tackle the challenge at 2 pm EST on Saturday. The team stayed in the top ten for the duration of the race, and when Roman took over for the last stretch, they were sitting in ninth. De Angelis was able to hold the position for an hour, allowing them to have their first top ten finish.
"Super proud of the whole The Heart of Racing team for finally getting a full race under our belts after a difficult start to the season." - De Angelis said of the race.
