Twelve Hours of Sebring Race Recap

March 21, 2022

Sebring, FL

This past weekend Roman and his 2022 teammate Tom Gamble competed in the #27 Heart of Racing car at the Twelve Hours of Sebring. The team was looking forward to the race and getting back on the track after a month without racing but had some hardships to overcome this weekend. With a start near the back of the pack after qualification Roman and Tom were ready to make up some track time but, in hour three, were sent back to the paddock with an alternator issue. The race crew worked tirelessly on the car and was able to get them back into the race, but they were 20 laps behind. In a long and gruelling race like this one such a large deficit can be difficult to make up, and although Roman and Tom were able to finish the race, they were more than 70 laps down.Although this was not the result the team was looking for, they were able to finish with the support of a fantastic crew. The entire team is working through what they learned in this race to prepare for their next event. You can be sure Roman will be ready to make up these results and use the points they earned by still finishing P15 towards their goals for this season.
