It was a dream weekend for The Heart of Racing Team and Roman De Angelis at Lime Rock Park in Salisbury, Connecticut. It was a podium sweep in the GT3 class as De Angelis and Marco Sorrenson, in their #27 car, took the top spot in the GTD division, while Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas won in the GTD Pro class.In Friday's qualifying De Angelis and Sorrenson put in a lap good enough to start in fourth position on Saturday. In Saturday's race, the duo was able to pull into the lead and keep a pair of Porsche 911 GT3 R's behind them to secure the victory, the first since the season opener in Daytona.The win also propelled De Angelis and Sorrenson back up the IMSA WeatherTech Championship leaderboard, putting them only 86 points back of the leaders.De Angelis and The Heart of Racing Team will return to action in two weeks at the IMSA SportsCar Weekend at Road America, August 3-6.
