Roman and the Heart of Racing team ended their IMSA WeatherTech 2021 season in the best way possible this past weekend, with a victory at the final race of the year in the Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway. Roman De Angelis, Ross Gunn and Ian James were able to drive the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin to a thrilling victory in the 10-hour race, which saw numerous lead changes and impressive displays of driving.Several cars were in contention for the victory Saturday, and the lead was swapped back and forth numerous times throughout the day. The Heart of Racing team started the day in 14th place after going into the weekend, focusing on driving their best race. With under 2 hours to go, Roman handed the car over to Gunn in the lead, but the tight race continued from there. Gunn secured the final lead change of the race, taking over first position from the #9 Porsche 911 GT3R with only 35 minutes remaining.This was the second victory for De Angelis & Gunn and first for teammate and Team Principal Ian James. Thie victory was also the first endurance race the #23 Heart of Racing has earned and put a wrap on a fantastic season for the team.
