Florence, Italy, March 30th, 2023
This past weekend was the second stop on the 24H Series calendar at the Mugello Circuit, located just outside Florence, Italy. De Angelis was back in the #27 Heart of Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with teammates Gray Newell and Ian James. After coming off a third-place finish in the series opener, the trio sought to improve their results in the GT3 Pro-AM class.
The weekend started perfectly, with the team qualifying P2 overall and P1 in their class. Although an incident pushed the team down into the midfield early into the race, they recovered and claimed their first Pro-AM class victory of the Hankook 24H calendar. The team finished the race third overall and first in class after completing 338 laps of the 5.245km long circuit.
De Angelis will be back in action in two weeks at the IMSA 2023 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, where he and the team will look to reclaim their championship lead.
Roman De Angelis is a 20-year-old, multi-time champion racing driver from Windsor, Ontario Canada.
